Richard Tiras
Controller
Richard Tiras is the controller at the Opportunity Institute. In this capacity, Richard performs all financial functions for the organization including accounts receivable, accounts payable, payroll processing, bank reconciliations, allocations, general ledger reconciliations, vendor maintenance, and month-end close. Richard also supports the year-end tax and audit filings for the organization.
Richard has over 37 years of accounting experience for several major corporations, including the support of general ledger accounting implementations in Europe, South America, and Singapore.
Richard migrated to California in the late 70’s from New York City and finished his B.S. degree at Cal State East Bay, Hayward.
